Folk Tale Books and Fairy Tale Books

We have several hundred folk and fairy tales for sale, from a collection begun in my early days of teaching, when teachers had time to create curriculum and children had time to read. To make the collection easier to browse, we have organized the books into shorter lists. Note that older vs. modern books are sorted by illustrator, not author.

Hans in Luck.

In this old tale, Hans feels lucky every time he makes an exchange, from gold to nothing in hand, but he is luckiest to be home again! Large bright pictures fill the page in a frieze-like layout, with a line of text running along the bottom margin.

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, a "Kiddie Kut" Book.

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, a "Kiddie Kut" Book.

A sought after book of this series, perhaps because of the inside of the dwarfs' neat little house, which is so fascinating with its shelves of provisions, flour bags, ham, and wine, and the shelves of books and the Staffordshire dog and the model ship, and then the barrel stave beds with the quilts and the ruffles and the piece of a motto hanging above each one's bed.  Kind of a perfect Peter and Wendy scenario.
