shape book

One, Two and Three Kittens.

The shape kittens on the covers have nice expressions and huge eyes, and they are very prettily dressed. The kittens in the rambling stories have shed their clothes. Quite an unusual little piece. Note: This book has been sold.

Fix the Toys.

Picture this sailor with a rabbit head. Lots of fun switching the heads into different bodies, I remember it well! NOTE: THIS BOOK HAS BEEN SOLD.

Take the Children.

In a pretty realistic story, six children lose their name tags on their trip home on an ocean liner, and they need the reader's help in getting home.

Visit Mother Goose Town with Jack and Jill. (Lee Mero)

An ingenious walk through Mother Goose Town with nice 40's illustrations. Note: This book has been sold.

The Camping Spree of Kiddies Three.

A resolutely cheerful poem about family camping, quite fun, with sweet pictures in lovely colours.

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, a "Kiddie Kut" Book.

A sought after book of this series, perhaps because of the inside of the dwarfs' neat little house, which is so fascinating with its shelves of provisions, flour bags, ham, and wine, and the shelves of books and the Staffordshire dog and the model ship, and then the barrel stave beds with the quilts and the ruffles and the piece of a motto hanging above each one's bed.  Kind of a perfect Peter and Wendy scenario.
PLEASE NOTE: This book has been sold.

Farmyard Play Book. A Panorama. (1940)

Big bright die cut animals, depicted on both sides of these cards and hinged with green cloth tape, so that a whole row of animals can stand up: rooster, rabbit, goat, cat, goose, sheep, dog, pig. It may be time for the fine animals in this lovely old panorama to become a nursery mobile, or the hinges could be repaired. The collectible value, though, is pretty much gone. Note: This book has been sold.

Gambie Gorilla..who was so lonesome. Paul Kaloda, illus. Shape Book.

Outline shape of book, upper part, is of a gorilla; no exterior words, only the picture. In his arms is a baby gorilla, who is removable and free standing. NOTE: THIS BOOK HAS BEEN SOLD.

Bruiny Bear....who wasn't hungry. Paul Kaloda, illus. Shape book.

The outline shape of the book is of a sitting bear, front and back views; no exterior words, only the picture. Designed so that a removable bear cub can rest in the bear's arms. In the original damaged envelope with interesting printed material..

Old Mother Bunny, a shape book

On both covers, a large and determined mother rabbit, with red shoes and a manic expression, attacks a carrot with her paring knife; inside, on plain pages, are an assortment of publisher pictures:  period drawings of clothed rabbits, on the center spread two copies from Beatrix Potter's Peter Rabbit (with a kindly mother!) and a naturalistic rabbit family.
