Ordering online with Paypal Solutions Shopping Cart
The Paypal Secure shopping cart accepts direct payment from individual credit cards as well as Paypal payments. (See bottom of Paypal Login Page for Guest Payments)
Select your preferred Shipping Method. (Media mail is $3.50 for any sized order.) We review all purchases before processing payments, and will notify you of any differences. Canadian shipments are usually less than the $17 international fee..

We live in the country outside a small Oregon town and have had the same telephone number and local bank account for over thirty years.
Packing
Our jackets are covered with with archival protectors. All our books are invoiced and packed in a professional manner. Our hardbacks are shipped securely in cardboard boxes with ample padding or in Priority envelopes, reinforced with cardboard and well padded. In almost 20 years of catalogue and online bookselling, we have never had a problem due to packaging within North America, Western Europe, Australia/New Zealand or Japan.
Shipping
US Media Mail shipping (within the U.S.) is $3.50 for any quantity of books, representing a small discount for our customers on multiple orders.
US Priority shipping (within the U.S.) is $6.00 for a single item. Ask for combined US Priority shipping, not much less.. A very large, heavy book may require additional shipping. Books under 8oz, like Beatrix Potter books can be sent 1st Class Air: quite a lot less and just as fast, contact us first.

(The USPS, although sometimes slow, has failed to deliver a book only once during all our time in business).
International Shipping
We routinely ship internationally. Cost of shipping varies widely depending on country and size of book(s). The flat-rate priority in which many books ship (first wrapped in creased cardboard, inside the envelope) costs us $17 so that is the stated rate for most single books, available at checkout. If the book is very small it can usually be sent First Class Air for less, and there will be a refund of the difference. Small books to Canada are often substantially less, and again we refund. Very large books (over 9" wide if a very thin picture book, or perhaps 7 1/2" wide if a thick book with many pages) may not qualify for the flat rate. Please inquire about current international shipping rates for oversized books and multiple orders. There may be a discount and partial refund for books to Canada, depending on size. Returns Policy
We accept a return for any reason within 14 days and will refund the purchase price of the book.
If the return is due to our description error we will also refund the postage, going both ways.
Please return the book in its original packing or pack protected against moisture in a sturdy, well padded box, large enough to protect the corners. Let us know that you are returning a book.
Terms
We do not ordinarily give discounts, since we price according to the online market.
An additional 10% discount is offered only:
To circulating libraries, schools, and classroom libraries for any sized order.
To institutional collections as arranged.
To individual buyers on multiple purchases of over $300.
Trade discounts are extended to open shops listed as such in the Book Hunter's Guide or Sheppard's Directory. Any other dealer discounts, whether courtesy or reciprocal, have been previously arranged in person.
We invoice or accept purchase orders from schools, libraries, private collections, research institutions and established customers.

(No form of international surface shipping exists any longer, alas) These rates are for First Class Air, in a cardboard mailer; books sent in Priority flat rate envelopes are first wrapped in paper and cardboard.
